Galaxy Power Spectrum and Biasing Results from the LOFAR Two-meter Sky Survey (First Data Release)

چکیده
The LOFAR Two-metre Sky Survey (LoTSS) is an ongoing survey aiming to observe the entire Northern sky, providing excellent opportunity study distribution and evolution of large-scale structure Universe. source catalogue from public LoTSS first data release (DR1) covers 1% shows correlated noise or fluctuations flux density calibration on few degree scales. We explore DR1 understand systematics quality this release. produce catalog mocks estimate uncertainties, measure angular clustering statistics galaxies, which fit $\Lambda$CDM cosmology reasonably well. employ a Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) based Bayesian analysis recover best galaxy biasing scheme multi-component fraction for above $1$ mJy assuming different possible redshift templates. After masking some noisy uneven patches with suitable cuts, appears qualified cosmological studies. upcoming releases are expected be deeper wider, will therefore provide improved measurements.

Lyman Break Galaxy Candidates in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey First Data Release
We report the discovery of six compact, starburst galaxy candidates with redshifts 2.3 < z < 2.8 and r-band magnitudes 19.8−20.5 in the Quasar Catalog of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey First Data Release (SDSS DR1). The SDSS spectra of these objects resemble the composite spectrum of Lyman Break Galaxies (LBGs) at z ≈ 3 (albeit with some differences and broader spectral lines), but the systems ar...

The SDSS spectra resemble the composite spectrum of Lyman Break Galaxies (LBGs) at z ≈ 3 (albeit with some differences and broader spectral lines), but the objects are 4−5 magnitudes brighter than an “L∗” LBG. These objects could...
متن کاملThe SAMI Galaxy Survey: early data release and first science
The Sydney–AAO Multi-object Integral field spectrograph (SAMI) Galaxy Survey is an ongoing project to obtain spatially resolved spectroscopic observations of ∼3400 galaxies by mid-2016. To date, a total of ∼1000 galaxies have been observed, making the SAMI Galaxy Survey the largest integral field survey in existence. In July 2014 the early data release for the SAMI galaxy Survey occurred, with ...
متن کاملFirst Results from the 2df Galaxy Redshift Survey
The 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey is a major new initiative to map a representative volume of the universe. The survey makes use of the 2dF multi-fibre spectrograph at the Anglo-Australian Telescope to measure redshifts for over 250,000 galaxies brighter than bJ=19.5 and a further 10,000 galaxies brighter than R=21. The main goals of the survey are to characterise the large-scale structure of the ...
متن کاملNorthern Sky Variability Survey: Public Data Release
The Northern Sky Variability Survey (NSVS) is a temporal record of the sky over the optical magnitude range from 8 to 15.5. It was conducted in the course of the first-generation Robotic Optical Transient Search Experiment (ROTSE-I) using a robotic system of four comounted unfiltered telephoto lenses equipped with CCD cameras. The survey was conducted from Los Alamos, New Mexico, and primarily ...
